Most dog groomers work on a commission basis rather than a fixed hourly rate. The percentage of the commission usually varies between 30% and 60% of the grooming service, depending on the groomer’s experience. Because prices for grooming services vary based on location, salon reputation and other factors, the actual commission a trimmer earns can vary widely. On average, the hourly rate for a dog groomer is around $30.00. This can vary depending on the time required to groom a dog. For a complete grooming session that lasts, say, 1.5 hours, a fee of around €45.00 is usually charged.
