Dogs need grooming all year round!
Each type of coat requires specific attention, but there are a few basic grooming tasks that apply to all dogs, such as clipping nails, cleaning eyes and ears, and grooming teeth.
Dogs with a single coat, often referred to as “hair,” should be trimmed regularly, usually every 4 to 8 weeks, depending on the condition and length of their coat.
For dogs that shed, more brushing is required in the spring and fall, as their coats go through a seasonal cycle.
Remember that almost all dogs, regardless of their coat, benefit from trimming under the soles of their feet and around their private areas to stay clean year-round.
