Dewooling is the removal of dead undercoat in certain double-layered breeds.
The amount of shedding needed depends on a few factors, such as breed, age, health and time of year.
Regular brushing of a double-layered breed can control severe shedding throughout the year.
But in the spring and fall, many double-layered breeds experience heavier-than-normal shedding.
During this time, it is very helpful to increase brushing schedules and use grooming tools that can help remove excess shedding.
