- Assess the coat: The condition of the coat determines the length and styles possible, as tangles and other coat conditions limit the options available.
- Prepare the coat: Unless the coat is closely matted, wash, dry and brush out the coat thoroughly before beginning full body styling.
- Use the right tools: Most full haircuts require a combination of clippers or trimmers, attachment combs, scissors and other tools such as brushes and combs.
